The discovery has been submitted!

The discovery of a test for autologous blood doping has finally been submitted after 14 years of research by Christer Malm and his team. The paper shows that the method can separate clean from doped athletes that has used autologous blood doping.

The paper describes a direct and valid method for detection of cryopreserved blood (RBCs) using nano-UPLC-MS/MS. The method can clearly separate doped from clean and there are no confounding factors as training at high altitude interfering with the method. Professor Malm explains:

– There is no other known existing method so the test will be the first direct test for autologous blood doping and an important tool in the struggle for clean sports.
